Sangbeom Lee, PhD

Sangbeom Lee received her PhD in Life Sciences & Biotechnology at Korea University in South Korea. After graduation, He joined Dr. Yian Wang’s lab as a postdoctoral research fellow in 2014. He joined Dr. Ming You’s lab as research associate in 2021. He works in the field of chemoprevention and immunoprevention of triple negative breast cancer on mouse model.

Jiaheng Li, PhD

Jiaheng Li is an organic chemist by training and received his PhD in Northeast Normal University in 2017. He was employed as a research associate doing research on drug discovery and development for one year at Bethune Institute of Epigenetic Medicine at the First Hospital of Jilin University. In 2018, he did postdoctoral research (organic photochemistry) in Dr. Wang’s lab at SUNY-Albany and joined Dr. You’s group at Medical College of Wisconsin in 2020. His current research interest is focused on the synthesis of novel mitochondria-targeting compounds and therapeutic applications thereof.

Yian Wang, PhD

Yian Wang received her BS/MD in Beijing University School of Medicine and PhD in University of Toledo School of Medicine. She interested in cancer biology, focused on cancer chemoprevention and immunoprevention. She joined the YOU team in May 2021 at the Houston Methodist Research Institute, working on the immunoprevention of breast cancer and lung cancer.

Mofei Huang, PhD

Mofei Huang received her MD and MS in China. In May 2021, She received her PhD in Pharmacology & Toxicology at Medical College of Wisconsin where she studied the role of vaccination and metabolism modulators in lung cancer prevention and treatment in You lab. After graduation, she started her postdoctoral training in You lab at Houston Methodist Research Institute. Her research mainly focuses on Immunometabolism and developing chemo-preventive agents for cancer prevention. Her hobbies include listening to music and doing yoga.

Jing Pan, PhD

Jing Pan received her PhD in Cell Biology from Lanzhou University in China. Dr. Pan joined Dr. Ming You’s lab as a postdoc research fellow at the Washington University in St. Louis in 2009; was promoted to Research Associate Professor at Medical College of Wisconsin in 2020; and was recruited as Associate Research Professor at the Houston Methodist Research Institute in 2021. Dr. Pan’s research primarily focuses on identifying potent chemopreventive agents for lung cancer, development of vaccines to prevent cancers, and defining the mechanisms by which preventive agents or vaccines regulate anti-cancer responses.

Qi Zhang, PhD

Qi Zhang received his PhD at Lanzhou University in China. In 2008, he joined Dr. Ming You’s lab as a postdoctoral research fellow at Washington University in St. Louis. In 2020, he was promoted as Research Associate Professor at Medical College of Wisconsin. In 2021, he was recruited as Associate Research Professor at The Houston Methodist Research Institute. His research includes 1) aerosolized treatment in lung cancer; 2) the discovery of Mitochondria-targeted agents.

Donghai Xiong, PhD

Donghai received a PhD degree in Biomedical Sciences from Creighton University in Omaha, NE. His main research projects focus on the bioinformatics analyses of the biomedical data especially the next generation sequencing (NGS) data from cancer studies, such as the NGS data from the bulk DNA/RNA samples sequencing and from the single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNAseq) etc. He is also interested in developing bioinformatics tools and using these tools to promote cancer prevention and therapy.
